Guidelines for Students

Examination Guidelines for Students

  1. Answers should be to the point.
  2. Answers written in own words will be given better grades rather than using language of the text book.
  3. The learner will be judged on an overall understanding of the chapter and not merely on rote learning.
  4. Marks will be deducted for incorrect spellings, even if the answer is correct.
  5. In subjects like Maths steps marking would be done. Rough work has to be visible in the rough column.
  6. In subjects like science and geography extra marks would be given for diagrams and labeling. Labeling should be in one direction and capital letters should be used for labeling.
  7. Extra marks would be given for presentation, writing and neat work.
  8. Over writing should be avoided. Use of whitener is not allowed. In case of any mistake use an ink rubber or simply cancel It.
  9. After every answer line should be drawn.

Promotion Policy

For getting A1 in a subject the child should have 100% command over the subject which includes performance of Formative Assessment (FA) & Summative Assessment (SA) combined.
e.g. if the child gets 100 out of 100 in written test but the class performance and FA's are not up to the mark the child may not get A1.

Please note - that your grades in a subject depend on your performance in the FAs (Saturday Test, Debates Quizzes, Role Play, Recitation, Group Discussion, Projects Assignments etc) + SA (Term end Written test).

Just doing well in one does not mean you are eligible for the top grade

Final Grades will be given after combining FAs + SAs.

91-100 A1
81-90 A2
71-80 B1
61-70 B2
51-60 C1
41-50 C2
33-40 D
32-20 E1
<20 E2

Promotion to Higher Class

  • A student getting E2 or E1 in scholastic areas in one or more subjects will have to improve her performance In subsequent attempt to obtain qualifying grade D in these subjects.
  • If a student fails to get a qualifying grade in one and more subject, even after getting grade points from co-scholastic areas after availing one important chance, she will be required to repeat the same class during the next academic year as per the CBSE policy
  • It is mandatory to appear in both the Summative Assessments during the academic year.
  • Every student is required to get a qualifying grade D and above in all the subjects from l-X and 40-10 for XII

Improvement Chance

  • After Summative Assessment II in class IX, a student will get only one more chance for improvement to obtain qualifying grade D. This is also applicable to those students who are not able to appear in summative assessments due to sickness.
  • This chance may be provided preferably within a time of one month from the time of declaration of final results. Some flexibility in time schedule for conduct of improvement examination may be kept in mind for convenience of all.

Syllabus

  • Syllabus for improvement examination should be same as that of SA II. The school will prepare its own question paper for improvement examination based on design of SA II. Due care may be taken to ensure that the standard of this question paper is comparable to question paper used for SA Il.

Attendance Policy

  • It is mandatory for every learner to maintain a minimum of 80% attendance to appear for SAs, failing which the child may be detained on account of lack of requisite attendance.
